Thank you for the email thanking me for for bringing my car in for service.  In fact I have moved from up north to Old Colorado City and first took my car to the Phil Long service center in motor city Saturday morning because it was closer location and was told that I could take my car there.  It was not a good experience and I highly doubt I will take my car there or purchase a vehicle from them in the future.  I pulled in, unlike your service center I waited 15 minutes and still nobody helped me.  I walked around, several employees walked past me offering no assistance.  I finally found some other employees and yet another walked past me and said nothing.  One gentlemen finally said he would be with me in a few minutes.  10 minutes later and still waiting for the initial questions of what I was there for, I finally gave up and got back into my car and drove up to your location to get my car serviced.  I should have just come up to your location to begin with, it would have been much less of a frustration for me.  Your service center staff is always extremely friendly and helpful, and it was a good experience like I have come to expect from the Phil Long dealerships. Even without an appointment for an oil change they still were wonderful enough to work my car in and completed the oil change in a very timely manner.  My father has always purchased cars from the new center in Motor city and I myself and purchased 3 from the Phil Long outlets as well and have always been treated almost like family when we were at the dealership for on reason or another.  Never have we had an experience like I did Saturday.

I'd like to extend a long overdue "Thank You" to the Phil Long Hyundai Service department. I bought my first Hyundai Santa Fe in 2002. The first time I needed service for it, I met Robert Spah. Robert set the standard for customer service from that first visit and has continued to do so to this day. Our satisfaction with that vehicle and the support behind it led us to purchase a Sonata for my wife a couple of years later. Then a couple of years after that, I traded up to a newer Santa Fe. During all of that time Robert, and more recently Chuck, have been extremely helpful in taking care of our needs and making sure we stayed informed in order to keep the service up to date on the vehicles. They have always been very honest, consistent and trustworthy.
 
Most recently I had an episode where my Santa Fe wouldn't start. I called and described the situation to Chuck. It was almost eerie when he asked if I had started the car and let it run briefly the night before. I said that was exactly right. He immediately advised that due to the cold weather and the fact that I'd started the vehicle and shut it off after only a minute or two, that it was likely flooded. He instructed me to keep cranking it until it started. I tried this a few times to no avail. I called again and reached Robert. I explained everything up to that point and he told me to keep doing what Chuck said, and that it WOULD work. Hesitantly, I went back out to the car to keep trying, and sure enough after a few more tries it started right up. I was very impressed that the two of them were able to give me such a quick and consistent solution. Now, in addition to not having to get the vehicle towed in for service, I'm wiser about cold weather operation.
 
Without question, Hyundai makes great vehicles. But it's service like this that will keep Hyundai at the top of my list when deciding to purchase my next vehicle. I hope that Phil Long Hyundai keeps these two around because if they ever do go to another company, I'll be very tempted to follow them.

I am very impressed with your Service department.  I brought my 08 Santa Fe in for service.   The rear hatch would not work and it was something that I had brought in for repair previously.  I broke the rear glass, which jammed up the locking mechanism.  Your folks fixed it but then it happened again. 

Chuck took ownership of the issue and fixed the problem again at no charge.  Chuck had the service team invest additional time to clean up any remaining glass to ensure the problem did not recur.  I realize nothing is 100% but the fact that Chuck took those extra steps is indicative of his professionalism and commitment to his customers.
Chuck and the entire service team's commitment to quality and sense of responsibility stands out from the crowd.  My congratulations to you for an exceptional service team.

I just read your e-mail and wanted to let you know that I just love my new car.  It is so easy to drive and I feel at home in it already.  I just had one problem and it was quickly fixed by your service department last Thursday.  It happened last Sunday when I stopped by WalMart.  The remote key would not lock the driver's side door.  I was really puzzled and tried again, but still it wouldn't lock, so I locked it with the key.  When I came out of the store I tried to remote unlock the door , but it wouldn't work.  So my son, Dan, drove me out to your Service Dept. and it took less than an hour and it was fixed.  A wire had come loose or was broken.  I was so happy it was a simple fix, and now everything is fine.  I believe the man who waited on us, Robert.  He was very pleasant and efficient and we had a good experience.  It was very much appreciated.  I certainly would never hesitate to recomment Phil Long Dealership.

I want to express my thanks to your professionals at Phil Long Hyundai.  I have had nothing but great things to say about your entire team at this dealership since my first contact.  My husband and I had purchased two Hyundai's from another local dealership in May of last year and had been very unhappy with the service department and management.  So I came to your service department to see if they could help me.  At first I was told that since the South store had ordered the specific part, they would have to install it.  But after seeing my frustration, Robert and Chuck immediately stated that they could look at my vehicle and see what it needed and order the part.  They immediately pulled my Santa Fe into the garage and determined the problem and looked up the part to find there was one in the warehouse and they could make an appointment to have it replaced the next day!  Boy was I impressed.  (this was after waiting over 6 weeks for the part from the other dealer and still didn't have resolution even after a visit with management).

Since then, your service department has done all the service on not only my 2007 Santa Fe, but my husband's 2005 Elantra.  We have both been very pleased with all the personnel and service involved.

Last week, I was having service on my Santa Fe and just happened to ask Robert if he knew if the sales department had any "good buys" on a used vehicle since our daughter was in need of a vehicle.  He said the sales people had gotten some vehicles in, so go over and see what they had.  I wandered around the lot for a few minutes and spotted a couple of used vehicles that might fit the need if they were the right price.  Duwoyn Snipes came out and greeted me and asked what he could help me with at this time.   I told him of the situation and desperation for a good, used vehicle at a good, low price.  He went inside to talk to Shawn who told him of 3 choices that could fit the needs.  We went back inside and asked him what would be the best price for this 2004 Hyundai Accent.  He talked with Shawn and they gave me a price.  I told them I had to go home and talk it over with my husband and daughter.  Later that evening my husband and I came back over to test-drive.  We were pretty sure we wanted the vehicle, but we had to make sure our daughter could obtain financing and could afford the payments.

On Wednesday morning, even though it was Duwoyn's day off, I was able to call him and have him meet me at the dealership to start the sales process.  I presented a coupon from the internet to seek $250 and he was able to get the price lowered by that much which helped a lot as well.  We got the paperwork started and put down the deposit and asked if they could start the make-ready and we would be back on Saturday with our daughter to complete the sale.

On Saturday,  we arrived and were warmly greeted by Duwoyn and other staff.  We sealed the deal and walked out to get into the car.  We noticed that the tank was FULL!  In this day of high fuel prices and this being a used car, we were completely taken aback by the thoughtfulness of Phil Long Hyundai and staff that we would find this nice surprise. 

We all have nothing but good to say about your dealership from sales to service.  Everyone has been very professional and treated us very well.  I have always hated the thought of visiting a car dealership a car dealer with all the pressure and sales tolls that have been used in the past.  But your people have made it a pleasure to visit, whether for service or purchasing a vehicle.  Thank you to all Phil Long Hyundai Chapel Hills staff for the most pleasant of experiences.  We will continue to recommend and send people your way for future sales or service.
